The Dracaena originates from Africa. In the sub-tropical jungles,

a plant may reach a height of 5 metres.

Nowadays, most Dracaenas come from Costa Rica.

Cultivation in Holland takes 8 to 12 weeks.

The layers are situated in a mountainous area where it is nearly always misty. This mist provides natural protection against bright sunlight,  which this variety cannot stand. Once the stems have been cut off, with head and all, they are rooted there and then sent off abroad.
